Seeking The King

Christmas songs were probably some of the first music I was exposed to. My Mom had tons of Christmas LPs and cassettes, and if my sister or I wanted to pull one out and listen to it in, oh say, July, Mom didn't mind. So it was very natural for me to record a Christmas album the moment I got the hang of producing a CD, and here it is: Seeking The King.

Seeking was definitely a labor of love, what with recording in a closed space in the middle of August (no air conditioning, and fans make too much noise!) and photoshoots following shortly thereafter (winter coat in 75 degree weather!). Between takes and feeling like I was going to pass out from the heat, I outlined and imagined how Seeking would look and sound, and how I would get from point A (recording) to point B (the release). I couldn't be happier with the turnout of the CD, it sounds and looks just as I had envisioned it.

For Seeking I wrote two original Christmas songs; Escape To Egypt and Mary's Lullaby. Both come directly from my heart to all of you and are an insight into my thoughts on Christmas. Mary's Lullaby tells a story of the first hours after Jesus' birth, and how Mary and Joseph may have reacted. Escape To Egypt takes us forward a couple years and is again written through the eyes of Mary, quieting Jesus as they make their escape from Harod.
